We must help McCain!

Now we hear that the other side is looking for 30 min. spots on several major networks. Please my friends, do not let this be the death march of the Republican Party. Please remember, or at least imagine, what it was like to fight for something you believe in. Do not let the fight come to us, for us to simply refute attacks. Bring the fight to their door. This is the time to end each day exhausted from doing all we can to save this country from being marketed to. I cannot stand by while my young children are on the brink of living in a world where our national leader could have all the charm of an infomercial. But, my friends, that is exactly where we are, it is unfortunately who we are. We do not have the collective initiative to learn about the real issues that will personally affect us. We do not have the collective strength to challenge the marketed campaign that delves so much deeper than a paid advertisement, that begins the moment we open a newspaper, the moment we turn on the television. How are we supposed to win this fight?

We can win. We can win because the people who surround us each day want to be informed, they simply do not know where to start. They know about media bias, but have no resource to find the truth. They will look to their neighbors, colleagues, their friends, and family. They will watch TV as a convenience to learn a little more so that they can be "personally informed". They will look toward the winning team. We need to ensure that the message we have is clear and direct. That our message breaks through the polished, wide smile that comes with no substance, but with a message that makes those who can't see through that blinding smile to listen up.

It is not each other who we need to convince. It is not the readers here we need to preach, gripe, and vent to. It is the people who do not get involved in our water cooler discussions. It is the people who we know want to join in but just haven't found the time, or their voice.
